The Data Collection

The database "Literature on Myxomycota" includes more than 4,000 references with the focus on literature about taxonomy and ecology of these organisms. Beside the regular options to retrieve literature data it is searchable for certain keyword categories and or keywords (including taxon names). Nomenclature and taxonomy of the taxa follows (Lado 2001) and Nomen.eumycetozoa.com.

The Data Project and Service

The data project "Literature on Myxomycota" was established by Prof. Dr. Martin Schnittler, Greifswald. It is thematically connected with the data project Annotated Checklist for the Myxomycota of Germany. Support was provided by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Wissenschaft (BMBF) within the frame of the umbrella project "Establishing the German GBIF Node for Mycology". The J2EE database client DiversityReferences, a component of the Diversity Workbench, was developed by Andreas Kohlbecker, Berlin, with some program modifications done by Asif Rashid Lakehsar, München. The SQL database was set up by Gregor Hagedorn, Berlin and Dr. Markus Weiss, München.

Currently the data project "Literature on Myxomycota" is maintained and expanded by staff members of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald and the Botanische Staatssammlung München as part of the German GBIF Node for Mycology. Notices of errors of any kind are much appreciated by the editorial staff at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald.
